6 Word Fridays: Easy

This week's word is 'easy' and I'm back ....

Easy living is a life well lived,
from my walk to the postoffice
to a meander for delicious gelato
I'm loving my time here in
small town Indiana.  The pace is
calm, the setting picturesque, truly Rockwell.

Then I take my easy life
to Chicago, via train, 3x week
Still easy - sit back, relax, ride
click clack sounds of train wheels
taking me to my other life
the life of a Ph.D. student

The readings are challenging, the work
is thoughtful, I am happy here.
From leafy green rural Indiana town
to booming, teeming, big Chicago city,
I am happy - it's easy here.

Athena,

This poem does have a very easy feel to it. The words are lyrical and have a rambling cadence. It's great.

Thanks for you kind comment on The Red Sweater. Glad to know you're rootin' for me!

Namaste..........cj

Sounds like you've found a great balance between city and country. But, I'm a bit jealous -- my small town doesn't have gelato!

CJ: Totally rooting for you. Hang in there.

LaQueshia: It is ideal, thank you.

Adrienne: Yes, it is. :)

2bdancing: I hope so too. This will be my first "fall" in two years. I'm looking forward to it.

Kelly: It is a relatively recent addition but a most addicting one. Hazelnut cappuccino ... ah, how I long for it.

Oh, long ago I lived in the bustle of chicago and envied a few grad students I knew who had such a life as yours. Spread between the joys of academic rigor, urban landscape, rural calm and family.

Having a little of both worlds sounds idyllic!

So nice to have you back. :)

Athena, I get a sense of how comfortable you are with your city and rural life. A juxtaposition that compliments the other. Lovely!
