Good weekend in La Porte

I know I generally complain about my time in LP. It is a dreary little town in so many ways, however, it is where I grew up so I try to maintain some semblance of "can deal with it" when I am there.

What makes the time there go fast is time I spend with friends. On Friday night, I traveled over to the Sharkfamily abode in South Bend. Young Sharkboy, now five, is Mr. Big Time. He is very gregarious and funny. My favorite quote from him this weekend was after he flexed his 'bicep' in front of me and I felt it and commented on how muscular he is. He then told me "I've been working out." I laughed all the way home over that, I swear, kids say the wildest things. Time with Jen and Jay (Sharkmom and Sharkdad) was great fun too, lots of laughs and libations. A lovely time.

On Saturday morning I went out to breakfast with my Mom. It is rare that I get time alone with my Mom so it was lovely for just the two of us to do some errands and breakfast together. Following that, I got ready for the day and visited my Aunt and Uncle and then my Grandma. Grandma is 90, hard of hearing and full of opinions. Some of those opinions drive me batty but I chalk it up to her being 90 and she can say what she wants.

Saturday night was spent with MNMom and MNDad, as well as a friend from HS, Noah. We had dinner and played with babies, it was a great night. I really enjoyed myself and could have loved on the kiddos for hours.

Sunday was all about driving back. Easy day and I ended it with a nice nap in the sunshine on my couch.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

This morning he flexed and asked if "I wanted some of this"...then when I acted as though I was going to wrestle with him, he said..."come on Dad, let's do this". He is a hoot. It was great to see you as well, glad we helped make your visit fun.

I swear, Sharkboy is just a riot! I talked to Brew and he is hoping you'll have a moment to meet when you come down in April. Think about it and let me know!
